Eagles will make the playoffs, but they're not winning the SB..nor the division. The Cowboys will win the east.
AFC EAST- Patriots #1 -- Such an easy schedule and despite a couple losses, it won't keep this team down.
AFC NORTH- Steelers #3 -- Tough division, but with their defense and with some younger guys joining the offense, they can survive.
AFC WEST- Chargers #2 -- Outstanding defense, the best in my opinion. The only key loss on this offense might have been Michael Turner. They may be the only team to challenge New England for that #1 spot.
AFC SOUTH- Colts #4 -- They might decline a little bit as they are in a tough division as well with several old players. They do have some young guys like Pittsburgh that can come in and get the done job, and it will be enough to win the division.
AFC wild card 1- Jags #5 -- Garrard is a great QB who doesn't give in. The defense I'm not really sold on a whole lot. They would win the division but they have the Colts infront of them.
AFC wild card 2- Texans #6 (my surprise team from the AFC) -- They had a 1-7 division record (last game was a win because Jax benched all their starters for the playoffs.) But if this team could have stayed healthy, they would have made the playoffs and this would have been a tough offense to stop. Assuming they will be healthy, they can make the playoffs for the first time.
NFC EAST- Cowboys #1 -- This team just has so many leaders all over. Romo, Owens, Witten, Flo, Johnson, Ware. Romo played a full season for the first time last year. Now he has learned everything and will get the job done to help the Cowboys finally win a playoff game this season.
NFC NORTH- Vikings #2 -- This team reminds me of the 2006 Chicago Bears. Great defense. Their pass defense will improve with experienced defensive backs and with the addition of phenomanal pass rusher, Jared Allen (no pun intended
) This will be a tough team to stop. Thier running back is a freak of nature and they got good receivers with Rice and Berrian. It's just T-Jack. If T-Jack can be a good QB, this team has the skills to be #1, but I don't see T-Jack being that type of QB.
NFC WEST- 49ers #4 (my surprise NFC team) -- I like the defense a lot. The offense is the question. I like Mike Martz. Their must have been conflict with the front office in Detroit. This is a put up or shut up year for Alex Smith. I don't think he will be one of the top 5 QB's in the NFC, but he will I think he can improve.
NFC SOUTH- Saints #3 -- They will come back this year. I don't know what happend last year. Losing their first 4 games, and they were going to be the first team in NFL history to come back from an 0-4 start and become 5-4..they lost to the rams making them 4-5.....I don't see it happening this year. The defense will be more prepared
NFC wild card 1- Eagles #5 -- I don't see McNabb staying healthy. But Brian Westbrook is probably the best all around RB after LT and AP. This defense I still question, I think they'll be better and that will help the Eagles get a wild card spot.
NFC wild card 2- Giants #6 -- Eli improved a lot towards the end of the regular season and throught the playoffs. Only 1 INT in the playoffs and that was in the SB. Good defense despite they lost a couple people, but they won't win it all this year. Last year they led the NFL in drops. Plax was decent through the entire seaon, but after that, no one else really shined. They didn't drop as many passes in a game in the playoffs like the normally did. Hopefully the imrovement that occured in the playoffs can occur during the season.
AFC: Chargers over the Patriots
NFC: Cowboys over the Saints
Super Bowl: Chargers over the Cowboys
